Complementary Health Insurance is a health insurance that covers the remaining part of the treatment costs partially covered by SGK in private hospitals.
The prerequisite for having complementary health insurance is to be entitled to SSI. In private health insurance, you can have insurance regardless of whether you are covered by SGK or not. There is a contribution fee application in private health insurances and the contribution fee varies according to the policy. For example, if you have a private health insurance with 25% contribution, you will pay 25% of the treatment costs. In complementary health insurances, all hospital expenses are covered by the insurance company and SGK in private hospitals with SGK agreement.* Outpatient treatment limits in private health insurances are generally determined on TL basis. In complementary health insurances, treatment limits are usually determined in units. For example, if you have a limit of 8-10 outpatient treatments within the scope of complementary health insurance, a treatment amount of 500 TL or 5,000 TL does not create any limit excess. In complementary health insurances, the institution where you will receive treatment may be a hospital, physical therapy center or polyclinic. The important thing is that the health institution and doctor you prefer have an agreement with SSI and that the treatment is done in accordance with SSI criteria. This is not a requirement for private health insurance.
